If you asked us where in the world we’d like to go, we’d say everywhere. We’re always itching for a getaway! Here at Coveted Style, just like our consumer, we love taking the opportunity to travel the world, learn something new, meet new people, coordinate our looks to our destination (come on, you know you do it too) and have fun. Right? Right!
In February, we launched our travel series in The Bahamas, the second destination for our #AroundTheWorldInCovetedStyle was Spain and let’s just say we are still craving paella! Read below to see how our trip to Spain with our Founder/Creative Director went down.
Travel to Spain Like Coveted Style
During our travels in Spain we made our way to two of the best cities in the country: Barcelona and Madrid. Trust us, if we had more time we’d go to Ibiza, Seville, Valencia and Granada too. But, we can save that for another trip because you can’t go to Spain just once.
What to Pack for Spain in Spring
Packing for Spain during the spring time can be pretty tricky. One day it may be warm, and the next day may be a bit chilly. The key to dressing is layering. Add a few lightweight layers to your suitcase including a scarf, camisoles in neutral colors, and a light jacket to carry around if the temperature drops. When it comes to shoes, comfort is key so stock up on the kicks! Our go-tos include classics like, Adidas Stan Smiths and a cool pair of Nike kicks. If you can get away with packing just one pair of heels for a fancy night on the town, you’re golden — you’ll probably only need them once or twice anyway.
Along with our layering essentials we packed our Off-Shoulder Deconstructed Top and Wide Leg Paper Bag Pant because who doesn’t travel in style or find the right fits to complement the scenery? This look was perfect for taking in a full day of all things Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona — who by the way was clearly ahead of his time.
Where to Go
If you’re planning a visit to Barcelona and Madrid there are some must-see spots. Here were some of our favorites:
Travel tip: Book your tickets for all museums in advance to avoid the long lines.
Where to Shop in Spain
There are many places in Spain to shop for fast fashion, and luxury clothing, but in our opinion, nothing beat our shopping experience at the market in Madrid. Take a trip to El Rastro for vintage denim, souvenirs and the cutest jewelry pieces ever.
What to Eat
You cannot go to Spain and not eat paella! However, not all paellas are created equal! If you’re heading down to Barcelona, try the paella at Arume in Las Ramblas; in Madrid head to Ana La Santa! Also, don’t leave Barcelona without heading down to La Boquiera Market. Go on an empty stomach to try everything you can!
